PROJECT: NW1

Our aim was to integrate solar thermal energy generation to assist in minimising the carbon footprint of the development. The installation of a 50kWth Solar Thermal system was one of the largest systems in the UK. Installed during the winter, GHG overcame various challenges to deliver the system.

GHG was approached by  to design, supply and install solar hot water systems for a new student accommodation development in central London. The project for had to meet the BREAAM standards. The building comprised of studio flats up to six stories. In order to meet the BREAAM standards, the solar hot water system only needed to provide hot water to the flats, reducing CO2 levels by 10%.
